About

"It's the genuine in Cotter to which his subjects respond... it has allowed him to bring artists into his orbit so that he may draw art further out into the world."

— The Philadelphia Inquirer

Jim Cotter is a broadcast journalist and producer of film, TV and radio.

Over the course of his career he has reported from five continents, interviewing world leaders, great artists and everyday people.

Jim Cotter began his career in local radio in Ireland before moving to the UK to work for BBC Wales and The BBC World Service. After coming to the U.S., Cotter served as Arts Editor at WRTI radio from 2001-15 where he created and hosted the popular, long-running, weekly culture show, Creatively Speaking.

In 2014, he reimagined that show for television. Articulate with Jim Cotter ran for ten seasons until 2022, with more than 10 million annual viewers and hundreds of thousands of followers on social media. It won a Daytime Emmy in 2020 and, in total, was nominated on six occasions.

In 2022, Cotter produced The Articulate Hour, three one-hour specials for PBS, which aired nationally in May and June of 2023.
